Daily activity:


Thursday 12th.: water temp 70.5 NNW 8-15mph in the a.m. / 66.2 N 12-20mph in the p.m. The water was clean. Small Bonita were caught in the morning. Kim caught two. Paul D. hooked a giant Flounder but didn’t have access to a net. Unfortunately, the estimated 25-inch slab broke off while Paul tried to handline it. Last night the Squid were active. The biggest of the season were in like these Brenda, George and Jack caught. Jack’s Squid was the largest one any of the anglers have ever seen caught.

 

 


 

 

 

Friday: water temp 63.7 NE 5-11mph in the a.m. / 64.9 W 7-10mph in the p.m. A black Drum in the morning and a few Squid throughout the day. The Squid bite picked up in the late afternoon. Schools of Ballyhoo were swimming through. 


Saturday: water temp 64.0 NE 7-8mph in the a.m. / 65.7 SSW 8-10mph in the p.m. The water was clean. One Sheepshead was caught and then a few Squid late evening.


Sunday: water temp 64.9 SE 7-9mph in the a.m. / 67.8 SE 1-15mph wind in the p.m. The water was crystal clear. Brenda caught a small Flounder early in the morning. A few Bluefish were decked. Big Squid were caught after sunset.

 

 


Monday: water temp 68.0 SSW 12-16mph in the a.m. / 66.7 NNW 10-20mph in the p.m. The water was clean. There were a couple of Bonita caught during this morning’s thunderstorms. The afternoon brought windy conditions, but a few Squid were caught. 


Tuesday: water temp 62.4 N 5-8mph in the a.m. / 62.2 W 13-20mph in the p.m. The water was clean. One Black Drum was hooked but broken off since the angler didn’t have a landing net. Squid were caught.


Wednesday 18th.: water temp 61.7 NE 5-8mph in the a.m. and slipped down to 60.6 by 10:15 / 63.1 NNE 4-9mph in the p.m. The water was clean. A few Bluefish were caught. Squid were caught all day. 


Red Tide status: INorthwest Florida over the past week, K. brevis was observed at background concentrations in Escambia, Walton, Bay, Gulf, and Franklin counties.
